The lecture will first outline some general traits of the concept of transculturality as established in 1992, and then discuss some examples of transculturality in history and the present, such as: Dürer – a Venetian; Gandhara – a hinge between West and East; Ibsen’s Peer Gynt – a world wanderer; the Cloud Gate Dance Theater of Taiwan – national pride transcultural; Death Metal and Buddhism.
